$100,000 Donation Benefits K. Hovnanian Children’s Hospital

March, 2010, Monmouth County, NJ: Members HFCF recently toured K. Hovnanian Children’s Hospital at Jersey Shore University Medical Center. The tour was to view the pediatric unit’s renovation and new infotainment systems, which are funded in part by HFCF’s $100,000 pledged donation. The infotainment systems enable hospitalized children and their families the ability to have entertainment and game options at their fingertips.  The new television systems are engraved with a plaque thanking HFCF.

HFCF President Eric Hinds states, “Our organization works to make a positive difference in the lives of children and their families. We are proud to be supporters of K. Hovnanian Children’s Hospital’s initiatives to make children feel as comfortable, and as happy as possible under often very difficult circumstances. Walking through the pediatric unit and seeing the efforts of HFCF’s work brought to fruition, was an extremely moving and rewarding experience for all of us. Nothing beats bringing a smile to a sick child’s face.”

Every year HFCF raises money at their annual fundraiser gala to support children and families in need in Monmouth County.  Last year’s event had 460 guests and after expenses raised $180,000. The evening had a casino theme and gave guests the opportunity to bid on a variety of silent auction items and try their luck at gaming tables for chances to win a variety of beautiful gift baskets all donated by local businesses and individuals.  Entertainment was provided by Affairs 2 Remember DJ’s and ICON Dance Complex.  In addition to dinner and dancing, the highlight of the evening included a grand raffle and an exciting live auction.  Please save the date for this year’s gala to be held Friday, November 19, 2010, at the Ocean Place Spa and Resort in Long Branch.

About HFCF:  HFCF was started by a group of young professionals, entrepreneurs and parents in Monmouth County working together to raise funds with the end result of making a significant positive difference in the lives of children.  On an annual basis, HFCF carefully identifies established charitable organization(s) and/or individuals that will benefit from the annual fundraiser.  Over the past five years HFCF has donated over a half of million dollars to help better the lives of children.  Some of it’s beneficiaries have been Family Promise, The Valerie Fund, Big Brothers Big Sisters, K. Hovnanian’s Children’s Hospital, The ARC, The YMCA, CASA, Prevention 1st and many families that have expressed individuals needs.
