Our Team

Executive Board

President

*Eric Hinds is a graduate of Villanova University and began his career at Merrill Lynch in 1998,  a founding member of The Hinds/Pearly Group.  He is a Senior Vice President Wealth Manager and serves as the Resident Director for the Summit, New Jersey office. A firm believer in the Merrill Lynch principle of responsible citizenship, he was awarded the prestigious Merrill Lynch David Brady Award, which recognizes volunteerism in the community, in 2011. In 2012, The Arc of Monmouth County New Jersey also honored Eric for his commitment to community service.  Eric has served on the Holmdel Township Committee for 9 years, was Deputy Mayor for 3 years and has served as Mayor in 2015 and is the current Mayor for 2019. As the Co-Founder of HFCF, Eric has been the organization’s President since 2004. In addition, he is an executive member of the Holmdel Soccer Club. He resides in Holmdel, New Jersey, with his wife, Karen, and their three children, Eric, Connor and Abigail. An avid soccer player, Eric also enjoys reading, traveling, skiing and coaching his children in various sports.

Executive Director

*Marybeth Walz Pritzlaff is a lifelong resident of Middletown and now resides in Colts Neck, NJ.  Marybeth works tireless in her efforts to enrich the lives of families in Monmouth County and is considered a go to person within the community when things need to get done.  Marybeth is actively involved with helping many other charitable organizations throughout NJ, most recently focusing on pediatric cancer organizations in honor of her late sons Jude and Thad. Marybeth is also known for her work with uniting non profits in order to maximize philanthropic efforts within the community. Marybeth was honored by The Zocchi Charitable Foundation in June of 2010 and received the Thomas Rosamilia Inspiration Award from Stomp the Monster in March 2015.  In February 2019, Marybeth was the key note speaker for Collier Youth Services (an HFCF Beneficiary) and for the first time shared her inspirational story of love and loss. https://www.tapinto.net/towns/middletown/articles/video-a-woman-of-true-strength-marybeth-walz-pritzlaff-for-the-first-time-shares-her-poignant-story-of-crushing-loss-and-eternal-love  In Marybeth’s spare time she enjoys being with her husband Ode, her daughter Carrington Grace, her family and friends.

Vice President

*Adam LaRosa is a graduate of Villanova, Seton Hall Law School and NYU Law School.  He is a Partner at Argre Management LLC and also owns and operates Wine Academy Superstores and Canyon Runner Sport-fishing.  Adam is a lifelong resident of Monmouth County. In his free time, Adam enjoys spending time with his wife Shari and their two daughters Ariana and Alexa.

Vice President, Operations

Chris Lindsey and his wife Jenn reside in Middletown with their daughter, Jordyn and son, Michael.  Chris is a Partner at Deloitte Financial Advisory Services in New York City while Jenn is a stay at home mom.  They enjoy the beach, traveling, and skiing and the kid’s sports including soccer and ice hockey.

Treasurer

*Karen Hinds is a graduate of St Joseph’s University and resides in Holmdel with her husband Eric and three children Eric, Connor and Abigail. Karen is a founding member of HFCF and runs much of the day-to-day operations since the beginning 2004 . She enjoys working part time, helping within the Holmdel community and is a board member for The Woman’s Heart Fund supporting woman’s health at Hackensack Meridian Health.  In her free time she enjoys playing tennis, skiing, and watching her children in their various activities.

Secretary

Kristie Kane-Tapolow is an integral player in all HFCF’s events. Kristie is intensely involved with HFCF and other Monmouth County charities, including  The Play 2 Win Foundation and the Hugo Pinto III Memorial Foundation.  In her professional life, Kristie works as a social worker for the Middletown School District and also provides in home therapy for at-risk children throughout the county.  Kristie, her husband Daniel and her 2 children Hudson and Harper reside in Middletown.

Program Manager

*Steve Coltrain grew up in Middletown. Graduated from University of South Florida-Business Marketing. Director of Business Development at Stevens Communications- a Telecommunications/Technology Consulting Company. Aside from Co-founding HFCF, Steve volunteers time at Middletown United Methodist Church playing drums, Youth Program and Missions. Coached Wall Pop Warner and Wall Travel and Rec Baseball. Steve’s philosophy, “Teach a man a rule and you help him solve a problem; teach a man to walk with God and you help him solve the rest of his life.”

Contributing Members


*Tiffanie Eagan Salerno Our 2017 honoree was raised in Monmouth County and is happy to give back to the community she love so much.  Tiffanie is a real estate attorney with a practice in Red Bank, NJ. She is married to Michael Salerno and has two sons Michael Jr and Luca. Tiffanie is an active board member for the ARK of Monmouth County and is involved with Big Brothers, Big Sisters of Monmouth County.

Heather Sperduto began her career at ADP in 1998.  For nearly 20 years she has steadily progressed through the organization, moving from corporate sales trainer to corporate accountant services lead to her present position as vice president of Sales Operations for the ADP Accountant Channel.  Heather is deeply involved in the community, demonstrating the same passion for volunteering and philanthropy that she does for training her staff and working with her accountant partners.  Since 2008, she has been a board member of the HFCF, a nonprofit organization that inspires hope by teaching children and their families how to live happy, successful lives.

Deb McMerty Brew is a wonderful person, always ready to jump in and help anyone or any effort. In addition to managing a busy household with her 3 kids Connor, Carlee and Casey, she co manages a Holmdel Parents Facebook page, volunteers in myriad school initiatives and is an active member of HFCF.  Brew served on the Village Board 2012- 2014 as VP of Fundraising, Satz Board as VP of Membership 2013-2014, and Indian Hill Board 2014-2017 as VP of Fundraising, then Co-President.  In the High School she now serves on the Project Graduation Committee. Debbie is also proud of another major initiative she created that has helped hundreds of students – a volunteer system for community service. Our working groups include the churches, Monmouth County Parks System, Meridian Hospitals, Bridges and more. It’s a great help to everyone, and I am so proud of it.”

Susan Hammer Susan Hammer is a lifelong resident of Monmouth County. Susan has been heavily involved with HFCF since 2014.  In addition, she has been active with the school system in Holmdel for years and served as the VP on the Indian Hill School Parent Liaison Group. She is very involved in her community and enjoys spending her spare time with her husband Joe and their three children.

Stephen Murphy is a lifetime resident of Monmouth County, and has been a volunteer with HFCF since 2010. He currently lives in Tinton Falls with his wife Kelly, and by day serves as Director of Marketing at NetElixir. Stephen and Kelly are expecting their first child in May 2018.

*Dawn Pakrul has worked with HFCF since 2004. Dawn is also actively involved in the Middletown Township school systems. Dawn resides in Middletown and enjoys spending time with her husband Marc, and their three children.
