HFCF 4th Annual Fundraiser a Great Success!

“A Night at the Oscars” Raises over $240,000 to Help Children in Monmouth County

 Event Brings Total of Foundation’s Donations to Local Charities to Over Half a Million Dollars!

$100,000 Donation Made to Benefit K. Hovnanian Children’s Hospital

November 2008, Monmouth County, NJ: HFCF announced their 4th Annual Fundraiser held on Friday, November 7th was a great success that raised over $240,000!  After event expenses, $161,000 will go directly to help children in Monmouth County.

HFCF Co-Founder and Gala Co-Chair Marybeth Walz states, “Once again we are overwhelmed by the generosity of individuals and businesses in our community. We cannot thank everyone enough for all that you have done to continue our mission of making positive changes in the lives of children in our community.”

A large attendance of four hundred and ninety guests enjoyed the formal dinner dance party held at The Ocean Place Spa and Resort in Long Branch.  The evening, “A Night at the Oscars” included a Hollywood style red-carpet entrance, where guests were greeted by an entertaining Joan Rivers impersonator and the paparazzi. Guests enjoyed the cocktail hour with passed hors d’oeuvres, as they browsed the large variety of silent auction items donated by local businesses and individuals. Dinner and dancing was held in the main ballroom with live entertainment by Brian Kirk and the Jirks, and a special performance by Icon Dance Complex.  The evening included a grand raffle and an exciting live auction.

At the event HFCF announced a $100,000 donation to K. Hovnanian Children’s Hospital at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, in support of its expansion and renovation project; ‘Transforming Care.’  In addition HFCF announced donations to Family Promise, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Monmouth County,  a family in Monmouth County whose son is battling cancer, and a $1000 scholarship check for The University of Maryland to Middletown South graduate Caitlin Talty, in recognition of her outstanding community service.  HFCF will also donate to individuals and charities throughout the year on a case by case basis.

The success of the gala was made possible by hundreds of local businesses and individuals. The main sponsors for this year’s event are as follows:  Platinum $20,000 Sponsor-Anonymous, Silver $3,500 Sponsors: Argre Management LLC, White and Case, Bronze $2500 Sponsors: Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Curto, Cifelli Disposal, Luke McCann, Monmouth Medical Center & Monmouth Medical Center Foundation, Paul Oster, Mr. and Mrs. JR Zaleski & Community Appliance. The trailer for the Wave Runner raffle was donated by Mr. and Mrs. John Stavola, and the Gucci Bag/CoCo Pari Package donated by Mr. and Mrs. Gregory Peters.

About HFCF: On an annual basis HFCF identifies established charitable organizations and individuals that will benefit from HFCF’s annual fundraiser dinner dance party. To this date HFCF has donated over half a million dollars to local charities and families in need of assistance in Monmouth County.  In addition to the newly designated charities and individuals; K. Hovnanian Children’s Hospital, Big Brothers Big Sisters, the scholarship award, and local children in need, some prior HFCF beneficiaries have been: Family Promise of Monmouth County, The Valerie Fund, Luke Walz, premature infants and children with rare forms of cancer. HFCF is a group of young professionals, entrepreneurs and parents in Monmouth County working together to raise funds with the end result of making a significant positive difference in the lives of children. HFCF was started with the simple goal of “getting together with family, friends and colleagues to make a difference in our community.”
