The 1st Annual Gala raises $60,000 to help provide hope for displaced families

Under the leadership of Eric Hinds and Marybeth Walz the Unity Bash Committee organized a silent auction dinner dance held at The Shore Casino in Atlantic Highlands.  They came together to encourage young professionals and local business owners to get involved in making a difference in the community through philanthropy.  What started as a small concept grew into a fantastic event that brought 370 people from around the area to raise monies to help provide temporary and permanent housing for Monmouth County’s homeless families.

The first event proved to be very successful and the concept of gathering younger professionals together was a big hit.  The night included silent auction items, a raffle to give away a Pontiac Solstice and entertainment by Brian Kirk and the Jirks.

As Eric Hinds has stated, “People in the community want to give back they just don’t know where or how to start the process.”  The committee will continue to plan future events to help children in need in Monmouth County.
